After spending a decade living in Tamarindo, one of Costa Rica’s most popular tourist destinations, Steve and Liisa are proud to call this country, home. The couple moved to Costa Rica from Canada and lucky for all of us, they brought along their neighborly outlook on life. They make friends everywhere they go, and Playa Tamarindo is no different.

Tamarindo. And unfortunately, the city has needed a lot of support lately. The economy in Guanacaste has been paralyzed since mid-March and as a result, many have lost their job, shut down their business, or faced health concerns due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
During these very hard economic times, Steve says the resilience and resourcefulness of our community in Tamarindo is impressive. “We stay flexible and find new ways to support each other and to try to continue to bring value to our local economy as best we can,” Steve says.
For the health and safety of their clients, the Quinn’s have decided to put a temporary hold on their fishing trips and activities. Afterall, the people of Tamarindo value family life and keeping a healthy community. And, as a country, Tico’s have experienced record low fatality rates. Recognizing that there could be more months ahead before things are back to normal, the Quinn’s have donated to local charities and food banks which benefit their fellow members of the tourism industry who have lost their income due to the pandemic. But, likely their favorite way to support their community was through a project launched by Steve himself. Take a look–you might even see yourself.
